أكد موقع تويتر السبت أن القراصنة الذين نفذوا هجوما واسعا على حسابات لمشاهير وشخصيات سياسية "تلاعبوا بنجاح بعدد صغير من الموظفين" في الشركة، مقدما اعتذاره ومؤكدا انه يدرك تأثير ما حصل على ثقة المستخدمين.
